Without those trailers on site, the customer would have to live load shipments, which would put strain on warehouse operations. If a live-loading carrier fell off a multi-stop route, recovery would be difficult, and a customer could miss a weekly product delivery. That would back up the customer’s own supply chain.
This is where trailer infrastructure becomes a competitive advantage. A standard broker may be able to quote a route, but not every broker can provide the physical trailer assets, carrier relationships and weekly operating rhythm needed to keep that kind of freight moving.
