Three modes. One facility. No friction.

Transloading lets you combine the cost efficiency of rail with the flexibility of trucking without needing rail access at your own facility. Our rail transloading services bridge the gap between transportation modes at Logistics Park Cedar Rapids. Rail-to-truck. Truck-to-rail. Rail-to-warehouse. Our experienced team, on-site equipment, and modern infrastructure handle the transfers so your freight keeps moving.

Rail-to-truck transloading

Rail moves it. We put a truck at the other end.

Reduce long-haul trucking costs by moving freight via rail, then transferring to truck for final delivery. Our Cedar Rapids facility handles the transfer with on-site operators, specialized equipment, and a self-service option for direct dock access. We regularly handle bulk commodities, agricultural products, construction materials, food-grade freight, paper and packaging, and retail consumer goods through rail-to-truck transloading.

Truck-to-rail transloading

Stop trucking lanes that rail can run for less.

Moving freight entirely by truck when rail is available is one of the most common ways shippers leave cost savings on the table. We receive inbound truck shipments, consolidate when needed, and load onto railcars for long-haul movement to destinations that would be too expensive to serve by truck alone. It's a different approach than cross-docking and for the right lanes, it changes the math entirely. For shippers comparing transloading vs. cross-docking, the difference usually comes down to mode, storage, handling, and how far the freight still needs to move. Through CRANDIC Rail and Class I railroad partnerships, your freight gains access to a national rail network without requiring you to manage direct rail relationships.

Rail-to-warehouse transloading

Off the rail, into storage, out the door on your schedule.

Not every shipment needs to move directly from railcar to truck. Our warehouse at Logistics Park Cedar Rapids takes freight off the rail and holds it in stable storage until your distribution schedule calls for it. With four dedicated railcar bays, 39 sealed loading dock bays, and a certified truck scale on site, we manage the railcar transloading equipment and labor so your inventory is ready when you are. We also handle chemical and industrial railcar transloading through this facility.

Heavy equipment transloading

Oversized. Overweight. Bring it.

Oversized, overweight, and one-of-a-kind freight requires heavy equipment transloading support built around the load. We have the physical space, specialized equipment, and experienced crew to handle agricultural machinery, construction vehicles, large manufacturing components, and industrial equipment safely, without improvising. And when your equipment needs to move from our facility to its final destination, our freight brokerage team can put the right carrier on the haul. One team. One relationship. Full movement.
